I was so shocked that they would say something like that. Buying your wedding dress is so special and it’s such an emotional purchase that you should never be pushed into it.
Anyway, after our appointment she actually said to me that she had never seen such a different collection of dresses and she fell in love with a Mikaella dress which was the exact opposite of the dress she originally thought she wanted.
Given that she hadn’t come across anything like the Mikaella dress during her search before reaching us, I thought id take the opportunity to tell you a little about them. They are a Canadian company and part of the Paloma Blanca brand. Every one of their dresses are special in different ways but follow the general rule of being classic gowns with a modern twist. From their dainty lace work to their elegant lines, there really is something for every bride.
My current favourites which we have in store are Mikaella 2061 and 1802. They are very different dresses but speak to different aspects of my personality. 2061 is a very elegant dress with clean lines and the fit and flare cut really highlights your silhouette. It’s an all crepe gown with a chapel train; it has a beautiful boat neckline with cap sleeves and a daringly low back. The dress is finished with an organza sash with beaded embellishment at the waist. This is a dress which suits most venues and can be dressed up or down accordingly. Add a flower crown for a more boho chic look or have your hair up and some stunning earrings for a more formal wedding.
Mikaella style 1802 couldn’t be more different in look and feel. This is an all lace gown with a removable ribbon which holds flowers at the natural waist. The bodice is sleeveless with a high illusion lace bateau neckline with a beautifully deep V back, edged with eyelash lace. Have your hair up to show off the back detail or have your hair down with some simple hair jewellery to add a bit of sparkle to a soft and sophisticated look.
